Fast setting ready to use adhesive for bonding wood

One component water dispersion adhesive. It is used for fixing wood or making wooden constructions. After it sets it becomes transparent and it can be grinded and polished. Although it has a good resistance to moisture it is recommended only for internal use.

Description

  • NOVACOL KR D3 is suitable for:
      • surface bonding of all types of wood coatings such as MDF, hard or soft boards, plywood
      • lamination of a hard plastic sheet (HPL, Formica, Duropal, Resopal) on a wooden surface
      • grouting wooden boards
      • perimeter welding of laminate floors and wooden parquets
      • wood welding in minor repairs
  • Form: paste
  • Open time: approx. 6 - 10 minutes
  • Dilution with water: max. 3%
  • Final strengths: 12 - 48 hours
  • Application temperature: from +10°C up to +35°C

Substrate preparation:

The surfaces to be welded must be clean and dry. Remove greasy dirt with a suitable cleaner such as NOVATHINNER PU.

Application:

Apply the adhesive with a notched trowel, brush or roller to one or both parts to be welded and apply pressure for a few minutes (30-60min). The desired pressure is 2-5 kg/cm². The amount of adhesive applied should be sufficient to ensure complete bonding between the surfaces. Excess glue is removed with a damp cloth while it is still wet. Surfaces are ready for use within 12-48 hours, depending on the application and ambient temperature and humidity conditions.

Recommendations:

Avoid using NOVACOL KR D3:

  • In cases where the substrate and environment temperature is less than +10°C or higher than +35°C

Also note the following:

  • Protect the surface from rain and frost for the first 24 hours
  • Do not mix with other materials
  • Do not add more than 3% of water
  • Application should be performed by professional skilled workers

Cleaning:

Tools, buckets, tiles etc. can be cleaned with fresh and clean water as long as, NOVACOL KR D3 is still fresh. After hardening occurs, cleaning can take place by mechanical means.
